Yes! Acts communities are pet-friendly. Residents are welcome to bring their cat, dog, bird, or any other non-exotic, well-behaved pet. We wouldn't think of splitting up families! Contact the Life Care Consultants at your community of interest if you have specific questions about moving with your pet to an Acts community.
Residents who maintain their long-term care insurance qualify for discounts on entrance fees, though some requirements and limitations apply. For more information on LTCI and moving to an Acts retirement community, please contact one of our Life Care Consultants.
For-profit retirement communities use a portion of their proceeds to pay investors. As a not-for-profit organization, Acts does not have to pay investors and uses their proceeds for capital improvements and increased services to residents.
The company name "ACTS" was originally chosen to honor the Book of ACTS in the Bible and was an a acronym for the company's original name, "Adult Communities Total Services." In the early 2000's, however, this acronym was retired when the company formally changed its name to "Acts Retirement-Life Communities."
Acts offers several types of life care contracts. Our most popular is our Type A or "Extensive," provide residents with unlimited, lifetime access to independent living, assisted living and skilled nursing care with little or no increase in the monthly fee directly as the result of a need for a higher level of care.
The entrance fee and the monthly fee provide you with the assurance that assisted living and skilled nursing care will be provided for life, with no increase in the monthly fee based solely on if a higher level of care is necessary, no matter how long or how many times you may need that care. They also provide you with a vast array of retirement resort amenities and activities just outside your door.

Yes, residents may have a guest stay with them in their home for eight consecutive days, or up to 30 days if approved by the community's Executive Director. There would be no charge to the resident, except for any meals the guest may attend. Many communities also have guest apartments available for rent.
